Help and contact
A Mac app that fixes track names that drifted and builds sets that flow by key. Everything runs on your Mac.
Getting started
- Export your collection from your DJ software as an XML file (in rekordbox: File > Export Collection in xml format).
- Import it in the app with File > Import Rekordbox XML. Your XML file is never changed.
- Fix names with Library > Fix Metadata: check the fixes you want and click Fix in Rekordbox. Each music file is copied before its tags change.
- Reload Tag in rekordbox: back up your library first, then select the fixed tracks, right-click, and choose Reload Tag.
- Build a set: select a track and the Mixes Next panel lists what mixes after it. Build Set from Here makes a whole set from a mood curve.
Help > Getting Started in the app shows these steps with where you are in each.
Questions
Does the app change my rekordbox library?
It never writes to rekordbox's database or to the XML you import. Exports always go to a new file. Music files change only when you choose Fix in Rekordbox, and only their tags; each original is copied first and Undo Last Write puts it back.
What if something goes wrong?
The app copies its own library before every import, fix, and delete. File > Restore Automatic Backup puts any of the last 20 copies back, and a restore can itself be undone.
Which music files can it fix?
MP3, AIFF, FLAC, and M4A. WAV files are fixed inside the app only. M4A has no standard tag for label or remixer.
How does Mixes Next pick tracks?
By key first, on the DJ key wheel: the same key, one step around the wheel, the major/minor swap, or an energy boost. Then by BPM within the range you set, with half and double time counted, and your ratings.
Does it need the internet or an account?
No. The app works offline, has no account, and sends nothing anywhere.
Where is my data?
On your Mac only. File > Show Library Folder opens it.
